“Kawakaisho” was the center of the river crossing system ,
determining the river crossing fee based on the depth of the Oi River,
managing the river crossing workers and so on .
This land is where Kawakaisho building was located during the Edo period.
Kawakaisho has now been relocated about 50 meters west of here.
Kawakaisho ended its role as an office in 1870, when the Kawagoshi system was abolished.
